Routines are important. Doctors and specialist talk about the importance of schedules and routines from the time we are babies. Routines about when to eat… to get enough sleep… to get enough exercise. Routines also give our brain the freedom to think about something else while we “routinely” go through the motions to get something different done. That is probably why we never question our routines, we just do them.I wonder how many “routines” I use to get through the day. How many of them are well thought out, time-saving routines and how many have evolved because “that is how I always do it”. If I took the time to examine some of the things I just do on “auto-pilot”, I wonder how much faster, safer, healthier, smarter, I could be if I changed it up and improved my routine???
Maybe the way you are doing “that thing” could be made better because the environment has changed or because the technology has improved. Maybe there is something out there to help you do it better now.
I have been looking at the “routine features” of the home buying and selling process. Wondering how we can make those better. Take nothing for granted. Improve upon everything. These are the ideas our team is using to break out of the old routine and build a better system.

Great food for thought
My house is for sale right now and I can tell you that I’m looking for anything non-routine to infuse a little action into the situation. The showing routine, open house routine, the sign-in-the-yard routine… all are timeless and proven methods for marketing, but isn’t there more?
I have a good agent and I know she’s working to close a sale, but what can technology do to spur this process? What has been done in the marketing of my house that wasn’t available in 1980? Not only does SE have to leverage technology, we then have to prove its worth to our end user.
Leslie, I can not imagine you changing anything. You are always so thorough and see the forrest through the trees. Your analytical mind is amazing. Rhonda always says, let’s call Leslie because she will figure this out in seconds. Great article, thanks for The Source.
